Travelex

Project

After acquiring Travelex Insurance Services in September 2016, Cover-More proposed a complete overhaul of Travelex’s website. The project was to include a complete remake of the site along with an updated purchase path and numerous additional pages created for the express purpose of educating consumers about travel insurance.

My Role

My role in this project consisted of auditing Travelex’s website, blog, and social media pages, designing the website template which included all landing and internal pages, editing and writing 56 pages, project-managing the design process, and fine-tuning the final CSS.

Templates & Preparation

The beginning stages of the website overhaul included completing a 60 page audit of the previous website’s content as well as developing the new IA and template designs.

The audit included Google diagnostic tests in addition to numerous SEO crawls. The audit was performed on the main Travelex site as well as on the blog pages and social media pages.

After the audit was completed, 30+ bespoke templates were created that outlined the new design of the website. The templates included landing and internal pages, blog pages, and the structure of the purchase path.

Landing & Internal Pages

The copy portion of this project included updating and editing 23 existing pages and writing 39 new pages from scratch. While many of the pages shared similar designs and purposes, each page was distinct and required entirely unique copy.

Purchase Path

The purchase path was a unique portion of the process as the designer, developers, underwriters, and I all had to be in total alignment.

Beyond an updated aesthetic, the new purchase path also included new UX and UI functionality including the pop-up add-ons. The purchase path also included new toggle features and an updated calendar drop-down.
